HIV symptoms or nothing to worry about?

I have swollen tongue papillae which hurt and other hyphae-like structures in the tongue which don't hurt but look big and swollen. But the doctor said they were nothing since they're not white! I've had terrible neck ache and headaches which would not go away for 4 days now and a swollen lump on the right part of my neck. Last week I had a cold accompanied by a chesty cough? What are these symptoms? could it be I contracted HIV??

It could be anything. It sounds like just an infection, but get it checked out anyway. Ask your doctor to run some tests.

The only way to confirm whether or not you have HIV is through a blood test. HIV is just the virus that can cause AIDS. AIDS would demonstrate through certain symptoms.

a person may feel flu or cold like symptoms soon after contracting HIV. it sounds like you are safe. you can always get a test if you're nervous about it.

Doesn't sound like HIV symptoms. Usually the only symptom people find they have had, after infection, is flu like symptoms that last a day or so. The best way to rule HIV out is to have a HIV test. And if you are still worried use condoms for 3 months and retest.

It is stressful when you have something that doesn't get answers, and the longer it goes on the more stress there is for the person.

HIV is something that can be ruled out easily, so if you haven't tested do it. Everyone should test at least once a year.
