Blood Test Results?

I just went to my doctor to have a required physical and they took some blood and I had to urine in a cup. When I got my results they said I have a mild case of anemia and he put me on some medication. Anyway, I was wondering does the doctor check for all diseases including HIV/AIDS and STD's in the blood tests or do I have to ask him to because I want to make sure that I have no diseases. Also does anyone have anemia and if you do could you explain to me what it is exactly because I did not understand it when he told me.

Normally, required physicals include all of those tests with which you are concerned.Since you gave a urine sample, you can relax.Blood and urine= test for just about everything. Mild anemia usually is a lower than normal iron level in your body. There are other causes, also.Normally caused by diet problems but also more common in some races than others. You should be fine. You are smart to be concerned about your health.

never have that, but I think you are short of some things, you may have to eat more vegetables and fruits

i hate the doctor. i had to get blood drawn yesterday, but i have a thyroid problem.

Anemia is lack of iron in the blood. He probably put you on iron pills, which will probably make you fairly consipated. I am anemic it got worse while I was pregnant. I was on huge iron pills and then a stool softener. A lot of times, you will take the pills for 6-8 weeks and then you can go off of them!

No, they don't generally test for AID/HIV unless you ask them to. You will need more blood work for that.

Anemia is the lack of proper amount of red blood cells in your blood. It can make you feel tired and you won't be able to fight off simple colds, etc as well. Doctors usually tell you to take Iron or B12 supplements.
