Can 2 lesbians contact AIDS/HIV or any STD from each other if they are only seeing each other?

I ask because one just recently stopped heterosexual relations within the year. And although, tested negative we still want to know the risks for future reference.

STDs can be transmitted by sharing sex toys and any contact of one persons vaginal fluid with the other person. Make sure you clean your toys well with soap and water.

That being said, the transmission rate of STDs between women is very low. It's a good idea for both people to be tested before engaging in sex and to have a mutually monogamous relationship to prevent STDs.

Generally, lesbians are at low risk of HIV infection, unplanned pregnancy and becoming infected with STDs. However, even though sex between women has a reduced likelihood of transmitting HIV, transmission can still occur. Sex between women is not always safe, and therefore women need to know the risks and how to protect themselves.

Lesbian or bisexual women are not at high risk of becoming infected with HIV through woman-to-woman sex.

However, like many women:

Some lesbians have unsafe sex with men
Some lesbians inject drugs and share needles
Some lesbian sexual practices are risky (see underneath for more details)
Lesbians wanting to get pregnant face decisions about semen donors.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!!!!

If you tested negative then there is no problem. If there is no STD or HIV in either partner there is no way anything can be passed on. This is great, as long either partner does not go outside the relationship. Lesbian relationships are very low for HIV transmission. Best wishes to the lucky couple!!
