If you are pregnant and have an std or hiv, will the doctor call you??? |
Nothing is wrong, Im just wondering if someone was pregnant will the Dr. call and tell them that they have HIV or an STD, after their tests came back in?? Or will the Dr. wait until they see them? No they would call. Dont panic or stress about things. you will be just fine. I know taking all those tests can make you nervous, but I am sure you are fine. Don't worry. We have all gone through that. Doctors are required to inform you face to face for those sorts of things, and with STD's (especially HIV) because many people require counseling. It is also dangerous to wait to tell the person, as they may spread it in the meantime, so the doctor would most definitely call you in for a consult, and not wait until your next visit. All the answers on here so far are saying yes, but I have a different opinion (and some experience with this). When I was pregnant with my first child, my boyfriend (he's now my husband) gave me an STD. It was pretty early in my pregnancy and they didn't inform me until I came back in for my next appointment, when they also gave me the medication for it as well. I guess it could depend on the seriousness of the condition, and the rules of the office. |
