Should i be afraid to get tested for hiv? |
i tend to be afraid to go to the hiv clinic to get tested i dont know what to say i would be so embarresed going in asking to be tested Before I had insurance I used to be embarrassed too.But a friend made me realize that ..duh...whoever else is there,they wanna find out something just like you do...or they already have some messed up sympoms.so yall are in the same boat,they most likely feel as awkward as you.And this is how scared I was...after the first time I went they gave me a card to call back for the results...to this day I have never called about that result.lol.BUT,they didn't call me either.I went up there after that and everything was fine.Since then I got tested twice a year and it was so not embarassing or scary anymore..because after I found out I was good..I felt like I had a chance to really start to make more wise choices..and have complete control over my life. That is what the clinic is there for and all management is totally confidential. Good news the vast majority of patients tested for HIV are going to test negative. What this scare will do, is ensure that you clean up your act, and if you are sensible you will limit your partners and practice safe sex in the future! NO way!! Yes, it's a scary process, but it's the mature and responsible thing to do. I just got tested yesterday and couldn't sleep the entire night before thinking about all the 'what ifs'. The people at the HIV clinics are there to support you and are not there to judge you for the decisions you have made. The counselor was great and she actually calmed me down. The best part, is that you can get your results in 20 minutes...regardless of the results at least you will know. Take a deep breath and go do it! |

You should both get tested. If he sees your willing to get tested with him he knows your there for him. It will only make your relationship stronger!! good luck!! ...I can just speak for the little I know, not for everywhere. I know that a rapid test costs about $2 each. Now if you get into the regular blood tests, I dont know how much that would be, when you... I would go to an anonymous testing facility. Not a confidential one - an anonymous one. And I would pay for the testing out of my pocket. The word "confidential" still means that yo... Well well well, what can you say to the man who claims to have slept with more people that anyone on the planet...And some people say there is no justice...You play with fire.....etc.etc.etc... ...... I would tell her to call. I would think they would call, but there are a lot of people that get tested and maybe somehow they forgot. She needs to get the results and if it has been a while ago and... First of all.. try not to stress yourself out about it. I was in your shoes just last week! I had been worrying that I was infected with HIV. I'd look up symptoms, and almost every symptom ... |
