To all pregnant ladies when you did your HIV testing how long did it take for you to get your results back?? |
I took blood tests on wednesday may 7th along with an Hiv test. Today is May 10th..How long does it take the lab techs to get an Hiv test done??? Im really worried!!! The lab guys lost my results so it took about 4 weeks for me to get them back! I think I was an isolated case though, so don't worry too much! You'll get a phonecall if there's anything bad though, if everythings fine then your midwife will tell you that at your next appointment x I had this same problem. I "was" with the military and had Tricare.... which is horible!! It took 5 weeks to get my results and all was fine. I kept calling the doc to get results. If you are worried about the results and the doc doesent haven anything for you on Monday, you can go and get tested for free in most cities. The results come back to you with in 2 days. I wouldnt worry about it. Have you given blood? If so and they had accepted it you are fine. They test all blood before it is sent to a hospital. Keep cool. I know its not easy (Ive been there). You will be fine!! A full blood analysis usually takes about 4-5 days. If you ring the doctor who ordered your test, he/she will be able to tell you if they have been received back from pathology and possibly give you the results. Some doctors don't give you results on the phone so you may have to make another appointment. Best wishes |

Your lab results should be back by now. Keep in mind, no news in good news. If something is positive the Dr I work for will call the person and have them come in to "discuss their lab results&... Sorry, I have no comfort to offer you. A CBC is strictly to count the usual cells, and although it can indicate an infectious process in the body because of a rise in the WBC- it doesn't mean... They test for some STDs but HIV is a blood test. Many STDs are a blood test as well. ...If you have had protected sex then you have taken no risk doing this. It is true that HIV can be transmitted by oral sex but the risk is very very small. Furthermore your boyfriend has to have HIV... ALWAYS GET TESTED AFTER HAVING UNPROTECTED SEX. NO MATTER IF YOU KNOW THESE PEOPLE OR NOT. GOSH GIRL. OR USE A FREAKING CONDOM! Then you wouldn't have to worry about all this ****.... ****! S... Yes a finger prick is just as reliable as a blood draw. From the time frame you said you are totally safe. Good Luck!! ...Yes, you should be able to relax now.
