Can HIV survive in pool water?

Today I got my HIV test results, they came back negative.

My question is, does HIV survive in water? I swam in the sea and got bruises on my arms, and toes. I then entered the pool completely unware of the sores, but it did burn like hell. There wasn't chlorine in the pool, I believe it was sea water, because it was really salty.

I've just been so worried, and I got really happy the minute I knew I was negative, and I would really hate to go through that again :(

No...HIV is a very delicate disease and needs to be in the host body to survive. Outside of the host blood, the disease can't live long (only a minute or two).

pool water has chlorine and it squeezes the protein walls of the virus immediately.
