Can i get hiv from a blood test and the chair?

i got a blood test for hiv and when the guy took my blood he put an opened clean gauze on the other end of the arm rest of the chair where i was supposed to lean my arm on to draw blood. note that the gauze was like 3 inches away from me when he was taking blood and not in contact with me until he removed the needle. im scared that there might have been blood (from ppl getting blood drawn before) on the spot that he rested the gauze and im scared that it could have gotten contaminated. could the gauze have gotten contaminated???!

i forgot to mention, they do not clean the arm rest and

1. what if blood had rubbed off the person before me onto the lab techs glove and when he went to pick up the empty bandaid wrapper he touched the chair?

I don't think so but ugh he obviously messed up because there shouldn't be ANY doubt in your mind. He shouldn't have rested it in the armchair where someone else probably got their blood drawn. The chances of someones blood dripping on the armchair soaking up on the gauze and coming in contact with your blood is not likely but i guess it could happen. If you are really worried get tested again just to make sure and report the incident so stuff like this won't happen again.

The HIV virus does not survive in air....so that location you are talking about is clean. Any surface anywhere even if contaminated blood (with the HIV virus) is spilt on it...is clean.
The virus is ONLY contracted via VACUUM (airless) contact..as an example....from inside the body (which is airless) of one person into the inside the body of another (which is also airless). So what are these outlets and inlets. Well the only ones on a human body is....either the anus......the vagina...and the penis. Or via an injectible implement..like a blood transfusion in anAIRLESS artery or vein or muscle

That blood is not going to enter the little stick in your arm. Stop worrying. If the lab tech knew what they were doing, they're shouldn't be any blood on there gloves. There should not be that much exposure to the blood while the Tech is drawing. Not unless the tech has a very bad technique.
