If my HIV test is negative..?

does it mean that there is 0% chance of me developing HIV in the future given that I am totally abstinent or is there a chance that HIV can go undetected if I get tested too soon after having unprotected sex

It is recommenced that you wait 3 months from the point of possible exposure to HIV until you get yourself tested. Although HIV in many people will show up after 4 - 8 weeks, testing sooner than this may well throw up an inaccurate result . Therefore the only way to be sure is to get yourself tested after 3 months. This way you can be sure that the result you receive is almost certain to be accurate.

as long as you remain abstience in general or since your last exposure you were tested negative outside of the window period.. then you wont have to worry about HIV popping up months/years down the line.. do not listen to people who say it takes years.. it takes 3 months with a person with healthy immune system to see HIV in their blood if they were exposed..and 6 months for sure they would have it.. but if u were negative since ur last exposure outside of the 3 month window period.. YOU ARE NEGATIVE.. now go party and stay that way.. there is a lot of sex devils out there waitin to infect negative people bc theyre selfish

if its three months after ANY possible exposure then the chance is low six months it would have shown up for sure I would get checked at three and six months to be sure then you're safe if you don't have anymore possible exposures
