I'm scared i may have hiv?

i have been tormentting myself 4 the past 4 months, i had a one nite stand in oct 07 and cant remeber if i used anything, in the december i had tonsilitis, then now 4 the past 2 months iv had a swollen groin, and im starting 2 feel really hot of a night in bed. i cant go 4 a test as im so scared!!!!!!

What's worse... dying because you didn't go for a test... or knowing and being treated so that you can prevent yourself from spreading it to others and can continue to live a long and healthy life?

Yes, you may have AIDS. However, you may not. The ONLY way to find out is to be tested. Buy a kit and use it. You have nothing to lose. In your own mind, you've already diagnosed yourself as positive. If the test proves you right, you can get on the appropriate drugs and probably be able to treat the disease as a chronic condition. If you are not positive, you can calm down and get treated for whatever is causing the symtoms you're experiencing.

If you do nothing and you're positive, YOU WILL DIE - BADLY. If you do nothing and you're not positive, you will make yourself sick with worry.

Buy the test - send it in and DO NOT HAVE SEX UNTIL YOU KNOW YOUR STATUS.

Sweetheart, the only way to find out is to take the hard step and go to the doctor and get a test! it will be soooooo much better for you because once you go you will know for sure! if it turns up negative you will have nothing to worry about and if it turns up positive you will start taking the neccessary medications to help you...i understand that its really hard, but its the ONLY way to know for sure

maybe take someone you trust with you...to be there for support

First of all if you slept with a man without protection you're in the ninety percentile of catching "HIV!"

Secondly, if you do have HIV there so many new medications out there that can help. Also living with HIV now days is like living with "Diabetes."

I think you should get tested the longer you wait the worst it can get if you don't get treated! Go to the free clinic it is confidential and they will help. Also, you might not be infected, but how would you know if you don't get "TESTED!"

Always use a condom people look good on the outside, but deadly on the inside!

To the person that said if you slept with a man without a condom your in the 90% to get hiv..that is totaly incorrect and false information..It's not reccommended but your chances are 30% if it was one time..People love to come on here and freak each other out but I can say that when I was tested for hiv my nurse practitioner gave me this information and I trust a health proffesional over some random yahoo answers person anyday..Hiv is not as common or as easy to get as people think..It's a delicate virus, there are alot of variables that come into play..Also, there are other std virus's or infections that could cause these symptoms..Don't freak out too much but go get tested for sure..

go for the test look at it this way ur life is a depressing mess right know bc u r full of the oh my god what if's if u go get the test only 2 things can happen either u r hiv possitive and u still depressed but know so u get help and work from there or u dont and hopefully u learned ur lesson and realise that 1 or 2 hours of pleasure is not wort ur whole life condoms everyone condoms
