Why is she making me wait 2 weeks...?

i didn't go in for results of my blood test results.i am 13 weeks pregnant and am worried about the HIV test.i took the test friday and was supposed to go in monday for results.i didn't and on tues midwife called me and rescheduled for two weeks time.saying it is important i attend my app.does this soud like HIV POSIITIVE?? or would they make me wait 2 weeks

Honey you've asked this question a lot now. You've been getting a lot of answers. I don't think she would make you wait for the answers to that. Call her though and talk to her. Call as soon as her office opens and come right out and ask. Tell her you cannot wait two weeks for the results and it is something you need to know. Good luck!

1. Don't miss your appointments. It not only causes you greater worry (like now) but it's an inconvenience to the care providers, who have made time in their day JUST FOR YOU, and you didn't show up. What if you kept the appointment, and they decided not to show up? Would you think that's rude? Also when you don't show up for an appointment, it means they don't get paid for that time they were giving to you alone, and that's not fair to them. Call ahead if you can't make an appointment, that way they can re-book the time slot for someone else.

2. You need to meet with the midwife to get an HIV test result. In the US, they are usually, legally not allowed to give it to you over the phone, negative or positive. (It depends on where you live though.) Don't read into it. Midwives are very, very busy people and my guess is, 2 weeks is the next available appointment. It's likely if it were a positive result, they'd want you in sooner but also -- don't read into it. Just go to your appointment and find out.

They're making you wait two weeks because you missed your appointment and that is the earliest they have available. It is ALWAYS imperative that you attend your appointments, no matter what they're for.

I wouldn't say it sounds like HIV Positive. If your results were positive, they would squeeze you in the same day or the next day, not make you wait two weeks.

Do not miss this appointment they have scheduled for you. Prenatal care is the most important thing in pregnancy.

Im actually sick of reading your questions now - just ring the damn doctor/midwife - try to get an earlier appointment, explain that you are concerned by your blood test results and its stressing you (and the rest of the YahooWorld) out!!

I wouldnt worry over it. 2 weeks isnt going to make that much difference anyway and the stress can be hard on a baby. U should have been there on monday regardless to find out. I dont think it is anything to worry over because if your HIV it isnt going to make any difference anyway.

They are probably making you wait 2 weeks because that is probably the next app't they have available. Don't read to much into it.

I know you are afraid to find out the results, but you need to know, for the sake of you and your baby.

if you were positive, they would bring you in straight away! I worked in a hospital before, they would not wait around with something serious like that

They get busy and since you didn't make time for them then they will make you wait for when they are ready. good luck ")
