Worried about HIV IN pregnancy..?

I am worried coz a few yrs ago i slept with an African ex-drug dealer..usually my midwife will call out if i miss app remindidng me it is important.on Friday i got blood tests which included one for HIV...i was supposed to go into clinic monday to discuss with midwife.i didn't go.Tuesday she called me again, i said i would come down, but she put me down for another app 2 weeks time.said it was important i attend. i Do know they wanted to do a scan to determine how far on in pregnancy i am.i never asked her about my bloods..if i had Hiv would she have made me wait 2 weeks.how would i know without calling.advise me here??i am worried sick

im not an expert but you should go to your appoinments and try getting some help, and also if you did have it, you can still have the baby with only slight risk of it transmitting you may not be able to breast feed, you should go to
the doctor and ask for the results just so you know you do not need this sort of worry on your mind during pregnancy. hope everything goes well good luck

If you had HIV I am sure you would knwo by now. If you go to your yearly pap smears then they test then as well normally.

If she does the blood work and something is abnormal they normally call you, or they give you a number to call for your results within ___ days.

I wouldn't worry a whole lot.

first of all telling the world what race might have given you the virus is very disrespectful. there are to many stereotypes second the drug thing yeah didnt need to know all that....

now then at this point i would stop freaking and just let it be. wait for your appointment and then find out
generally if it was the HIV results they would get you in a.s.a.p. im sure so relax momma cat!

if you had HIV they would have made you come in ASAP not made an appt for 2 weeks time. If concerned ring them and ask if your blood results are ok and explain the situation as everything is confidential.2 weeks worrying is quite a long time. Good Luck..
