Do i have HIV and am i pregnant (PLEASE READ)?

im a veryy paranoid person ive been on YAZ for 3 weeks now with a day 1 start, i had sex with my boyfriend the 2nd week. at first we didnt use a condom then i told him to put one on in the middle of it. im probably not preggy right if he put one on. and idk if he was tested or not for HIV but would i have gotten it if he was positive or is there a small chance of getting it? Never again w/o a condom i know that much lol

odds are you're not preggo or hiv positive (did you not ask him before you had sex with him?)

even for a split second without a condom you could be pregnant and if the person has aids you could too, what a dumb move on your part

First and foremost, HIV and pregnancy should not be your only concern when having unprotected sex. There are lots of other STDs that you should be concern about and tested for.

Secondly, although chances are slim that you are either HIV positive or pregnant, the only sure way to find out is to be tested.

Regarding HIV, from the situation you described it is unlikely that you would have contracted HIV if your partner was infact HIV positive. However, if you feel as if you may have been exposed, it is definitely a good idea to be tested. Something to keep in mind though is that you need to wait 3 to 6 months after the possible time of exposure to recieve an accrate negative result, so even though it is probably your first reaction to go and get tested, you can't rest assured that any negative test result you receive before that time frame is truly negative.

Regarding pregnancy, again your chances are slim. If you are on yaz like you mentioned, just wait until you take the placebos at the end of your pack and see if you get your period. Don't freak out if you don't get it on the first (or even second or third) placebo, because i know a lot of people on yaz, myself included, who don't get their period right away when taking the placebo. If you don't get your period, then take a pregnancy test, but I'm pretty sure you'd figure that one out.

Again, consider the other STDs you may have been exposed to. Go in for a pelvic exam/ pap smear, and they'll test you for a lot of things, namely Chlamydia and Gonnorhea, which are fairly common STDs, especially amongst young women. Syphilis (and HIV of course) require a blood test, so if you're not squeemish around needles, you should get tested for that, too.
