ok im 14 years old. i went to use a unisex bathroom in wal-mart to do a no.2 but there was no more toilet paper and i was already on the toilet. i saw a little box that had crushed toilet paper and i took one out. turns out that the little box was a tampon despenser. what if i have HIV? i dont want to get a test...i just need some comforting! what if my brothers or sisters have it from drinking out of a cup i drunk out of...HELP! EXTREMLEY SCARED?!? it happened about a month ago and i think about it day and night... some days i forget but then my mind keeps telling me ...."what if"........ what if the tissue had blood? what if im infected..????HELP I JUST NEED SOME COMFORTING THATS ALL... oh yea i used a tissue not a tampon.... There's a lot of myths regarding this disease which is probably why you are so confused. You can catch HIV by exchanging bodily fluids with an already infected person, which you haven't done in any real sense. Nor can anyone contract it by using a cup, you can't even really contract it by kissing. Please stop worrying. If you have a school nurse have a chat with her about it, she will be able to give you lots of information about the disease. Try to relax. You can not get HIV from your situation, and it is not transmitted by saliva (so drinking out of the same cup would not transmit the virus). Even if the tissue had blood on it you would not have been at risk from hiv the answer would be the same even if it was a used tampon!!!. Hiv is a very fragile virus and dies when exposed to oxygen. Also slavia contains enzymes that destroy hiv so you cannot get it by sharing/using the same cup Well if you want comfort, the only way to truly get it is by getting tested and knowing whether if you do or do not. Explain to your parents exactly what happened and share this with them to keep you and your family safe from anything. You need to tell them, going through this by yourself is not a good idea, you need their comfort and their support! You don't have HIV. It's just not possible. There's not even a slight chance. Impossible m8 don't be silly HIV is caught from exchange of bodily fluids you have not done that so you haven't got it the only three ways to get HIV is: |

HIV has some pretty classic symptoms, and if all you have is cotton mouth then don't worry about it. get checked again for HIV in 3 months (antibodies peak at 6 months from in...
