tested negative for HIV after 2 1/2 months of exposure .. can i still be positive ??

i feel like theres a lump or air bubble right below my adams apple .. i get dry throat as well .. like when i inhale through my nasal passage it gives the back of my tongue a cooling sensation and gets very dry .. what can this be ?? im scared its hiv related thats why i ask ..

hmm so whats wrong with my throat ? i also have to do alot of "clearing the throat" as well ..

It takes 6 months after exposure before you would get a positive result so yet you could still be HIV positive. I hope that hooker was worth it my man.

Yes, usually they tell you three months is the time to wait. Tests are free, so I would get another test after a couple more months. If your immune system is healthy it will start giving signs of HIV(antibodies) right away. For a poor immune system it can take up to a year for anything to show in your system. Your immune system tries to fight the infection right away so the immune system giving off certain antibodies is what doctors look for to see if your infected. I hope you are not, but you are doing the responsible thing by testing yourself. Don't take any chances screwing up anybodies life.

p.s. you won't start having symptoms of HIV that soon, that is something that takes years and years to kill you. Most probably you will die from the medication killing your internal organs slowly then from the virus.

Edit: you probably need to get retested to rule out the HIV.

How is HIV testing done?

HIV is usually diagnosed by testing your blood or oral mucus for the presence of antibodies to the virus. Unfortunately, these HIV tests aren't accurate immediately after infection because it takes time for your body to produce antibodies 鈥?usually two to eight weeks. In rare cases, it can take up to six months for HIV antibodies to develop and for these types of HIV tests to be accurate. However, the majority of tests are considered to be accurate within three months. A few early detection tests also exist, but they may be more costly and less widely available.

its not hiv related, it takes years in somecases before you feel the effect of hiv, which turns into aids, then you can fell the symptoms. But try testing in a year or 2 to be positive, Hiv spreads slow, but what you could have could be cancer, std(if you did oral) or other thing have the doctors run a diagnostics on your throat

Your symptoms are not likely to be HIV related, as there are often no symptoms of HIV soon after infection.
It can take 3 months for antibodies to show up in a test, and in extremely rare cases, it can take up to 6 months. It would be a good idea for you to be retested.

HIV doesn't have symptoms, all it does is attack your immune system making it unable to protect you against disease. The symptoms you describe are not diagnostic of HIV or AIDS, but if you are positive for HIV or AIDS the disease that those symptoms are coming from could be dangerous.

I'm about 700% sure that's not HIV. you don't feel anything after such a short period of getting HIV. That's something completely different. And exposure, you have to clarify that. If you think "air exposure", then no.

Well YES you can be positive and not develop anti-bodies up to 1 year after exposure.

It could be HIV related... but most likely it's either Acid Reflux, or a food allergy.

you can still be hiv positive. try to get tested in about 5 months. dont have unprotected sex until your forsure. sometimes it doesnt show up until a year later

THe first part of oyur question is YES, second part about lump is probably nothing connected to that...retest yearly and let it be.

Dont dwell on it...live on my friend

keep testing every six weeks andafter year of tests your probably negative.cheers

While possible, it is unlikely

yes. you have aids.
