When will I find out the results?

I am going to have an STD check on Friday at 9:30 am. I will also be taking an HIV test as well. Now, how long before I know if I am 'cleared'.

I assume HIV takes a little longer than the standard STD screening(s).

Can the doctor tell during the exam?

They can test for trich,BV, gonerrah there in the office during your PAP test. HIV, Hep B, herpes, and Syphilis will take a week

it doesnt take much longer. probably a week the most to get your results. but with the HIV test you will have to go and retake in bout 6 months. standard procedure... that is the window of time that it can take for HIV to show up. good luck!!!

It depends on how high tech the lab is at your doctors office. If its not high tech then they need to send your sample to some other lab and thats were they test it...you'll know within a week. If your lab is high tech they should be able to tell you while you are there.

I agree with the answers above, but, BY ALL MEANS get retested for HIV in six months. It takes a while for the virus to affect your immune system and produce enough antibodies to be detected. Best of luck to you :o)

depends on ur doctor you can find out if you have a std the same day iffff your doctor isnt lazy and does the rest there and dont send it out but a hiv test can take up to 2 weeks

7-14 working days. That does not count any exposure afterwards. Some STD signs & symptoms do show; ask the doc.

If you tested positive for an STD yes they would have to notify you and prescribe medications as needed. If it is negative, they may or may not contact you.
