Is HIV blood test after 1 month, 2 months, and 3 months accurate?

Im 19 years old. In november 2007 i had sex with a very premiscous girl, and i cant even remember if i used protection. ever since then i was so nervous i got HIV or a std. I had the blood test In january 2008, negative, then in febuary of 2008, then i had another one on march 10th 2008, all came out negative. I even had a herpes test which came out negative. But all this time frame stuff makes me so anxious! Now im reading i have to test again! i made a apointment to make another test tomaro. I am so nervous! my heart is always racing.. Should i be worried? i cant take it anymore!!

im so confused , cause one clinic tells me 3 months is enough, then the next person tells me i have to text again in 6 months.. I cant take all this anxiety!

Bottom line is that you did NOT contract anything from this girl, including HIV.

The truth is anyone who is sexually active should be tested every 6 months or yearly at the very least. Most health centers, specially county health dept. will suggest the same.

So relax. Practice safe sex ALWAYS. And get tested as a precaution.

no you do not need to be worried. if all the tests show neggative there is a 90% chance that the disease has not penetrated into your main system. next time dont freaking have sex. its a sin. you must be married to have sex.

Since your March 2008 is negative then you are negative

For herpes or hpv, they recommend a 4 month waiting period before testing for antibodies.

For HIV, I found this information online for you:

"Most HIV tests are antibody tests that measure the antibodies your body makes against HIV. It can take some time for the immune system to produce enough antibodies for the antibody test to detect and this time period can vary from person to person. This time period is commonly referred to as the 鈥渨indow period鈥? Most people will develop detectable antibodies within 2 to 8 weeks (the average is 25 days). Even so, there is a chance that some individuals will take longer to develop detectable antibodies. Therefore, if the initial negative HIV test was conducted within the first 3 months after possible exposure, repeat testing should be considered >3 months after the exposure occurred to account for the possibility of a false-negative result. Ninety seven percent will develop antibodies in the first 3 months following the time of their infection. In very rare cases, it can take up to 6 months to develop antibodies to HIV."

In my opinion, it seems to me like you are probably free and clear, at least with this scare you now know to be very careful when choosing a sex partner. You cannot tell from looking at someone if they have an std, no matter how cute or nice they are. We all need to know someone's sex history and testing results before hopping into bed. Insist on seeing the papers, dont believe anyone who is just horny and wants to get laid. It is very easy to catch std's, even with oral sex.
