I TOOK THE HIV TEST IT WAS NEGATIVE DO I NEED to repeat THE TEST AGAIN? it depends on when your last act of risky behavior was, if it has been longer than 3-6months, i would say no, but if it has not been atleast 3months, then yes, another test would be needed. Antibodies for HIV usually show up on tests within 3 months of exposure. However, in very rare cases, it can take up to 6 months for the antibodies to show up. I would recommend being tested 3 months after your last possible exposure, and then retested 6 months after your last possible exposure. yes i would redo it in six months. Sometimes it takes time before the virus mulitplies and shows antibodies in the blood work. I think six months is a good time but in the meantime try to refrain from sex if you are having sex with diff't partners or you'll never know for sure. If you are having sex with the same person, make sure she or he is also being tested and having sex with just you. Yes, most of the time you should take the test twice, because half the time the first test isn't right. That second test really gives the right answer. If you have been exposed to the virus either by having unprotected sex, sharing needles, coming into contact with infected bodily secretions etc you need to repeat it. Keep yourself safe - good luck. Yes,,,,,,,Most doctors encourage you to retake it because sometimes it takes years for the virus to actually show up. yes. ive heard every 6months for 2 years yes u should do it every 1 a month |
