I took my 3 months HIV test today.. soo scared!!? |
my doctor felt no swollen lymph nodes today.. BTW.. i have normal lymph nodes although ive been coughing.. its not swollen at all.. is this HIV? You don't have HIv. You tested neg. at 7 weeks right? They say 3months so they don't get in trouble because there is like.01% of people that take that long, the average time for hiv antibodies to show up is 25 days or 3.5weeks, you where way past that, its a good thing to get retested at 3months, but I could almost bet your neg. Congrats! The stress you are under is understandable. But the things you need to look at are the statistics about testing. HIV shows up 90% of the time at 30 days (your past that) 94-96% after 60 days, you have passed that make as well, so you have less than 4% chance that it will show up now. So I don't think you are at risk, It is good that you did the 3 month test, and your stress around the news is understandable. I doubt you are HIV+, but get your final results, and the best of luck! Wow, good for you for really getting this checked out. So Coughing doesnt indicate HIV. Actually at three months you probably would not have any symptoms at all, and if he tested negative you should be really in the clear. Best of luck to you sweetie. I bet evrything will turn out in your favor. I think that since your first test came out negative...his test came out negative...then most likely you are ok. And if you think about it everybody is sick right now not just you I've had a cough for two weeks so I'm sure it is just by coincidence. first of all I am so sorry. It sounds like you will be negative too if he tested negative. Good Luck!!! Let us know how it turns out. i dont know. but ill pray for you I could only imagine being in your shoes! I do have some good news though! Just because you have a cough doesn't mean that you have HIV. Even if your lymph nodes swell to the size of golf balls......this doesn't mean that you have HIV. The only tru way to tell is by the results of a blood test. Thanks to modern science and optimal medical tests, we are closer and more efficient than 10 years ago when it comes to testing for HIV. A place where you can go to find out a plethora of info on HIV is http://www.cdc.gov . This is the Center for Disease Control. here you can find just about all the facts that you will need to know about the disease. As a matter of fact, June 27 is National HIV Testing Day! At the top of the page you will see this advertised. Right beside this advertisement, you will see a blue search search box where you type in HIV. It will bring up everything that you need to know!! If for some reason your luck changes, be aware that people are living normal healthy lives even after contracting the disease! As for now, let your nerves be at ease! You tested negative so far! I would say that your chances are excellent! |
