HIV testing Question.. is elisa test accurate after ten years? |
Hello. I have not had unprotected sex in over a year. I recently tested negative with an elisa test through lab corp. my question is... the only real risky encounter i had was ten years ago... (unprotected sex) with a person who is RUMORED to be hiv positive... I am concerned because if i had been infected ten years ago.. would my body still make the Antibodies needed to show on the test. Could my immune sytem be so broken down that the elisa test is no longer valid. Any help by anyone knowledgable in this field would be great. People at testing site said i was okay but just need second opinion. Thanks to all carl~ I'm not a doctor, but I have educated myself about HIV! 10 years!! HELLO yes for sure, the antibodies show up BEFORE 3 months..Check the cdc website the average is 25 days..you are fine |
