Why didn't Planned Parenthood believe me? They hurt my feelings. Help!?

About 9 months ago, I was sexually assaulted. The man put his finger in my vagina AFTER masturbating.

I contracted HPV (genital warts) from the assault.

I told this to PP. However, they said that it was very unlikely that I caught genital warts from this. I had one sexual partner before the assault so they say it is more likely I got it from my sexual partner. My sexual partner was my ex-boyfriend that I am close friends with and trust completely. He NEVER had HPV.

Also, I am worried that I might have contracted HIV from the assault. I know it is very unlikely but it is possible since the virus can stay alive for 72 hours. I also asked to get a Herpes test but they said that was unlikely.

Why don't they believe me? Why do they think it is only possible to get HPV from vaginal/penile intercourse?

My boyfriend and I were virgins when he had sex. I was his only sex partner at the time. He had no STDs. I trust him....

However, the man that assaulted me is sleeps with men,

prostitutes, and never uses protection. His friends told me he has genital warts and herpes becuase he asks to borrow their Valtrax perscriptions.

I am so worried! I want an HIV test so bad. They act like I am crazy for wanting one. I also want to know if I caught Herpes.

Thats ridiculous that they wouldnt let u get tested, go to another Obgyn, asap, i know HIV gets detected 6months after u got it, but yeah ur right HPV isnt only passed on thru intercourse those people are stupid they should know better, Im so sorry this happen to u, if u know the guy u better but him in jail, i wouldnt hesitate if i were u, especially if he knew that he had Hpv and herpes or even HIV hes *** would not leave jail anytime soon. They're wrong for being insensitive.
You should go see your family doctor.
Or another clinic.
Ask them for an HIV test.
Talk with your parents too.
It may be hard, but this is a serious situation, and they need to know.

Most likely this isn't PP's position, but the doctor. There are doctors out there who "know" what is wrong with you, whether they are at a clinic or in a regular doctor's office. My doctor as a teenager "knew" that a nebulizer should make my asthma better, and when it didn't they were repeatedly retesting me to the point of exhaustion. She actually got reprimanded by the state because she "knew" a patient had asthma and made her do the same treatment, which sent her to the hospital because she actually was having panic attacks.

Anyway, the doctor you saw "knew" that you can't get HPV from skin contact, but of course you can. And any doctor that would deny anyone an HIV test is crazy. You should ask to see another doctor there, or see a private practice gynecologist.

And, if you haven't already, you should report the assault to the police.

I'm sorry to hear you were treated that way by an agency who is supposed to be empathic.
Planned Parenthood was very insensitive and they are very misinformed on how HPV is spread. It IS possible to get HPV from skin contact (that's how I got it). It's not only spread from intercourse.
Try your county clinic for the HIV and Herpes tests. At least they are not judgmental and they are confidential.

Yes, and press charges against the guy who assaulted you. He can not only be charged with sexual assualt, but also with attempted murder because he is knowingly passing around HIV.
