Scared I may have an STD?

Alright - my long term boyfriend and I seperated for a few months but we are back together now. I got a new boyfriend in the mean time and we had sex and messed around protected nad unprotected. I have am on antibiotics now for another illness and I have a yeast infection from it, I want to get tested right away before I do anything with my boyfriend. is it okay to get tested while on antibiotics and with a yeast infection? I cant go to my reg doctor because my whole family goes there, so I am thinking of planned parenthood but the prices are outrageous its 400 for full testing and they do not take insurance! What should I do? I am scared that I may of screwed up my chances of ever being back with my ex (we are together now but if I have something I am sure he will accept it but if it is something HARSH like hiv then I dont expect him to). What should i do? I drove myself nuts last night - I cannot go through another night like that.

You can go to your regular doctor. In the meantime do not have sex until you get a green light and a clean bill of health.

Well to begin with the yeast infection was probably caused by the antibiotics. Do you eat yogurt? If not you need to start doing that after every course of antibiotics.

My other suggestion is check with your local public health department , they have free anonymous STD clinics. You dont have to worry about anyone finding out because its illegal for others to have your information without your knowledge.

Wait until your yeast infection goes away before you go for testing. Also , stop having sex whenever you have any symptoms. Your body needs time to get healthy.

Well, they ONLY way is to get tested for HIV and there is no other way around. But it is not only you who should get tested. It is him as well. You do not know if he did have exposure or not. If you are going to get tested, he should do the same. Go together and get tested and good luck in your new relationship.

It is very unlikely that antibiotics affects the test result. The best person is your doctor to talk to about this.
