Do standard STD tests include a test for HIV? |
Earlier this year i found a growth on my penis, whcih turned out to be foliculitus , but being paranoid, i had it checked out. they took a sample of blood and told me that i didnt have any STDs which would cause a lump there. does this include HIV, and if not, would the tests done for other STDs (including hepatitis) show HIV if it was there? I am not sure about the UK. I know in the US, you have to sign a consent form to have an HIV test done. |

He doesn't need to have fooled around on you to be HIV+. My situation is a little different from you. I'm ga... That means you do not have the hiv virus, and since it has been a year, your test result is accurate! congrats, and play safe from here on out! ...There have been no reported cases of false negatives. 8 months is sufficient time for the antibodies to show up, even the cdc recommends only 6 months. you are HIV free yay! Now stop worrying about... I would think that proper treatment, counseling, and nutrition should begin as soon as the disease is discovered. ... |
