Is it smart to get an HIV test again 3 days later? |
Is it smart to get an HIV test again 3 days later? 6 weeks actually. That's the recommendation. Because HIV can take a few week to actually show up in blood tests, you should get tested twice: make a note of the date on which you were tested, and then get tested again 6 weeks later. That's standard practice. 3 days? too short... you're wasting your time If you are negative, and your exposure was more than 3 months before, then accept your negative results and move on with your life. Usually 6-8 weeks after the exposure, most of the people who are HIV+ will generate antibodies by that time. But the test is not going to be conclusive. You need at least 3 months after the exposure to get your conclusive results. So the answer to this question would be: JWORLD, no...you would just be wasting your money and time. If you test the first time...and the results are neg. I would not test any sooner than 1-3 months later. nope... waste of time.... you'll need to wait another few months... not sure how many.... but i know 3 days aint long enough Yes |
