Can the hiv test after 3 months (90 or 93 days) is reliable?

I had sex with man but with protection (condoms), but I am still afraid of getting this virus as we did also oral sex (he kissed my vagina). I did the test 4 times, 1st after 1 month, 2nd after 2 months, 3rd after 3 month and 4 after 93 days and the tests were all negative. Thank you for your reply.
Regards, May

Your test after 3 months is conclusive. In very rare cases, which the person is on drugs to treat cancers and other similar drugs, it might delay the detection of antibodies. If you are concern about it, talk to your doctor. I am sure you do not need anything to be worried about.

Keep up the good work of using protection all the time.

HIV can take up to 6 to 9 months for the antibodies to be produced and the basic HIV test used detects the antibodies not the virus. The antibodies are only produced after your body finally reacts to the virus and gives an immune reaction (like a mini flu).

Basically HIV cannot be spread by touching or kissing as it only lives in BLOOD and dies very quickly once its outside blood. if your partern performed oral-vaginal sex then the risk of getting HIV is about the same as being hit by a metorite from space! and thats never happened!

so at 3 months the test isn't reliable its only after 6 months that the tests should be done. Whoever arranged the test at 1 and 2 months does not know about the HIV life-cycle and should be told to check their HIV 101!.

if you are worried a sensetive test can detect HIV after a month to 9 months but this is called a HIV PCR test and detects the virus directly as the levels of virus are highest after 1 month to 9 months. these tests take 3 weeks and cost around 10,000 times more than the basic antibody test and so are only offered if you're paying for it.

It seems that the level of ignorance around HIV is amazing and 14 to 16 year old school children in places where the school does have HIV lessons know more than your doctor on this!

Testing after 3 months is very accurate. However, because it can take up to 6 months for the antibodies to show up in extremely rare cases, it is a good idea to be retested 6 months after possible exposure.

You'll be fine
