HIV test in London??

My friend needs to take an HIV test in order to proceed further with IVF. She has a complete phobia of taking the test, in case it is found that she has HIV. She has had a lot of unprotected sex in the past and is probably in the high risk category. She has been convinced for years that she has HIV since doing a course on HIV for her work (shes a psychiatric nurse,,, dont ask)
Does anyone know what happens at an HIV test these days,, she is telling me that she needs pre and post testing counselling and that 'years ago' this is what they used to do. However, I have heard from other people, who have just gone to have a general sexual health check up and had all the test done for everything that no counselling is given??
Any advice about London GUM clinics or hospital clinics for sexual health would be welcome

The Praed Street one (St Mary's Paddington) is a non-appointment centre and the docs are nice. I had the test in order to get a work permit for China and it was a simple blood test - no counselling

HIV is a virus and can work its way out of the body naturally especially if your immune system is good. HIV does NOT lead to aids, its the medication that you tale that leads to aids.

More people live who do not take the HIV medicine than those who do!

Over 1000 gay men took the free vaccination at a time when there was no such disease as AIDS. Then, by 1978 the infection began popping up all over the gay community. Strangely enough, it was predominate among the volunteers who had taken the free Hepatitis B vaccine. Within 5 years, 60 % of these men were infected with HIV.
