I'm suffering from paranoia...Please help?

I'm worrying about anything and everything there is to worry about.

I've been over-analyzing everything in my life. I've grown a profound fear of being HIV positive and having AIDS, or cancer, or hepatitis. I've made an appt for a blood test but it's not soon enough, not til another four more days.

I'm worrying and obsessing over death. I want to scream and cry and rip my hair out and I'm so scared. I don't know what's wrong with me, if I'm a hypochondriac or paranoid schizophrenic.

Everytime I feel nauseous or cold or there's a little blood in my nose or I'm late for my period I feel like I have some fatal illness and I start freaking out. I'm losing sleep over this. I'm only getting about 2 hours of sleep a night. I don't know what's wrong with me. I didn't used to be like this.

Have you felt like this? Please tell me what's wrong with me.

I'm 19 and scared to tell my parents that this is how I'm feeling because I've been in and out of therapy, drug treatments, and on and off of medications for the past seven years and I don't want them to worry anymore, since I was doing very well for awhile.

Dont worry hun its not paranoia.

Its called health anxiety. Not hypochondria - that term is now unused by mental health workers.

Email me. I am 19. I have this. It gets better as time goes on. I am seeing someone but a lot of the things they have tolme to do I sort of did this myself anyway so have helped myseld a lot.

Something must have triggered this for you.

Mine was giving birth - since I was a child I have always believed I would die giving birth. Then 3 days later I was admitted to A&E with ? blood clot on my lung. Thought I was going to die that day.

You may not even know what caused it.

Firstly youre not paranoid.

Secondly ask yourself what you have done to get any of these deseases, since you havent done anything to get them, it is highly unlikely that you have them.

Thirdly you need to see your doctor about your lack of sleep, and if you tell your parents about this then Im sure that they will back you up 100%.

Sounds like an anxiety problem or hypochondria as you mentioned.

Just because your paranoid doesnt mean theyre not after you
