Hiv ocd Please help ??

I have been suffering from ocd from HIV for about 2 years, I have been unbothered by anything for most of my life, I have been tested 3 times over the last 4 years (last was about 4 months ago) all real non ocd low risk.

It started with touching things like shop door handles in town, over the last year.

I then got partly over this, but now when I walk into town I am looking for any druggy鈥檚, prostitutes as I am scared to walk past them and have to question my self when I do if something landed on me.

The way I think is that if there is wind and someone has a cut on ther face, spit鈥檚 or spit鈥檚 when talking and it has blood in it and they have HIV I may get it, in my eye.

Even if someone walks about 3 meters away I worry, you can image how it has driven me out of any town walking and even places like Asda.

I can cope with normal people but anyone that looks like a druggy and I am paranoid.

I read how HIV can not survive in air but then I read that it can survive a couple of min.

I see that most people would have it if this was the case, but does what I say sound so stupid and what do you think are the chances.

The chances are extremely improbable of contacting HIV through anything other than direct contact with bodily fluids.

Not all "druggies" have HIV - just as plenty of healthy looking non-users do.

Perhaps you should try talking to some doctors who deal with HIV for reassurance - as well as perhaps a counselor who can help you understand the root of and manage this fear.

I can understand your reasoning. I think the best thing you can do is educate yourself about HIV as much as possible. Here's another thing that might be helpful - Walk yourself through the reality of the situation - you said it yourself, your fears are most likely unfounded due to the fact that most people don't have HIV - if it was as easy to catch as you are thinking - we'd all have it.
Do everything reasonable you can to keep yourself from becoming at risk for getting HIV - the rest is really out of your hands, don't waste your life worrying about something that will most likely never happen.
