Why do I keep getting infections?

I got an STD a couple years ago, and since then I've gotten fungal, bacterial, and viral infections. I have had two HIV tests and they were negative, why do I keep getting infections?

John this is a great question. The reason so many of us get STD's is because of the stigma involved with admitting to having or having had a disease. The answer to your question depends on a couple of factors. 1) Which STD did you have? Was it herpes? 2) You may have had more than 1 STD and they only caught one because STD's normally travel in at least pairs. This is a question that you really need to ask your Dr. If you have a good Dr. then do not be embarrassed. Plenty of people are treated for STD it is better to have been treated and cured for an STD then to hide it..., live with it..., pass it to others..., lie.

Something is wrong with your immune system. Your lifestyle might be part of the problem - poor diet, lack of exercise which boosts your immune system. Viral infections are common in all the population so I would discount these and an occasional fungal infection - depending on where it was - are also common. Frequent bacterial infections is the most worrisome. You might visit with your doctor about why this keeps occurring.

Sounds like your immune system may be compromised. You need to see your doctor and if that doctor does not given you satisfactory information and you are still having trouble with infections then you need to see another doctor. Just an idea, but maybe you have developed an immunity to antibiotics. Just depends on how much you have taken. Good luck.

Depending on the type of STD you have can make a difference. But it sounds like to me your immune system is down. When is the last time you had some routine blood work? You should do that to see if something else is going on. You CBC could be low. What kind of environment are you in? Do you take care of your body? Do you clean yourself regularly? A fungal infection(if in the nails) is extremely common. So I wouldn't be alarmed by that.

You need to get ONE steady girlfriend and stop messing around so much. Wear a condom.

Another risk is esophogeal cancer because so many females are now positive for HPV. Having oral sex with a partner who has Human Papilloma Virus can cause the virus to live in your throat and cause cancer.

I agree, you need to sit and ask your doctor these questions and then TAKE his advice!

Well, you might be getting an infection because of the STD you received. I dont know much about STD's, but I do know they screw with your immune system, and your immune system controls all that infection and disease stuff, so that might be your problem...

low immune system?

hm what std? herpes? if so...i think that can cause other things possibly. or if you have hiv, it may be too soon to show up. it takes 6 months or so to actually show up

ok you're NOT dirty!!!! I dont know why these idiots keep saying you are!!!
Youre immune system might have been affected and you havent had time to heal properly.
Take vitamin C supplements for your immune system. good luck!!!

eeewwwww. I am hoping your not sharing your member of your pants along with your funk and infecting other people and getting yourself re-infected in return.

I tried doing a search for you......but I need to know what STD you have so that I can give you the information you need.

You need your doctor to refer you to a specialist clinic. You could just be unhealthy and prone to such things - check out your diet and lifestyle.

You need to see a doctor who can help you figure out why you are getting infections frequently. People on YA can't help you.

Have sex with one person. Use a condom. Be clean. Do not sleep around. Be careful. Use the pill....Pretty much that's all. ENOUGH WITH THE UNPROTECTED SEX!!!!

The STD is probably weakening your immune system.

You are probably alergic of something.

Ouch well your immune system is kinda shutting down.
You also might not be keeping clean enough. Take vitamins.

I read once that having sex boosts your immune system, just wear protection.

Your immune system is low. And please wear a condom at all times no matter how hot and perfect she looks

Stop sleeping with whores, or at least use protection

Yuck. Ask a doctor. Not a bunch of random strangers.

Because you are dirty and weak.

You need to talk to your doctor.

sounds like you've been around
keep it in your pants for a little while ?

you need bloodwork done

cause youre dirty and have a crappy body that cant take shyt

Oh so you know my exwife too?!
