Just adopted a cat. What shots does she need?

The Rescue Team says she has had FelLeuk/Hiv Test, Distemer 1 and Rabies. Paperwork says Distemper 2 not required.

She needs her distemper booster and she needs to be vaccinated against rabies and feline leukemia. Even when cats are indoors only, they need to be fully vaccinated because you go outside and can bring disease back inside to them. Also every cat needs to be vaccinated for rabies because #1 its the law and #2 cats are hunters and may find creatures in your house you don't even know are there. Sometimes these creatures may have rabies (ie..raccoons, squirrels, bats, mice, rats ETC)

the shots she will need are dependant on the environment she will be living in...

if she will be an outdoor cat, she will need a rabies vaccine. if she will be around other cats, it would be advisable to get the feline leukemia vaccine as well.

the cat will need several rounds of vaccinations (boosters). you might be best to pay a visit to a vet, and take in all the paper work the rescue team gave you regarding the cat, and any vaccinations she would have received. chances are, the cat will need some boosters within the month.

If i was you i would get all shots done better to be safe.
