Yes. More than 98% of people who have HIV test positive within 3 months. In very rare cases, it could take up to 6 months for someone to test positive. It would not take longer than 6 months, so you are fine.

To Katherine: Most people who have HIV have no symptoms for SEVERAL years after getting infected. Some people do get flu symptoms within a few months, but it is impossible to distinguish between flu symptoms caused by HIV infectioon and flu symptoms caused by actual flu. That is why the only way to find out if you have HIV is to get tested.

You are probably ok. Tests most often pick it up within three months, but definitely by six months. If you are still concerned, get another test in 3 months. If you are sexually active with random people, then getting tested every three months is a good practice anyway.

It's probably fine. Usually if you were to actually get HIV, you'd see symptoms way before the year mark. You're perfectly healthy ;D

If you were exposed then you should continue gettin tested every 6 months for another year. Then after that I would go once a year....
