DOES THE OBGYN TEST YOU FOR HIV DURING YOUR YEARLY VISIT?

I went to the dr's and got a pap smear and he said it came back abnormal and to come back in for another test because he said something about my cells. what does this mean???

A pap smear is a test used to detect if you have the HPV virus that can cause cervical cancer. If yours came back abnormal, it means that some cancerous cells may have been found; but doctors are people too, which means that they can make mistakes! That's why he's testing you again.

But if you indeed have cancerous cells, you are at high risk of a full recovery if it is caught early! So rejoice because of that atleast!

If you want to be tested for HIV, you have to ask the doctor for one, and he will proceed to give you a blood test.
