If a patient test positive for HIV using the ELISA test but negative using western blotting...?

What can you say about the ELISA result? Is it a false positive? Is there more to it than this?

It could be both false positive or negative sometimes after exposure it may take time to seroconvert so one can take a repeat test or wait 3 months and do a repeat
