Im getting "checked" at the doctor for STD/HIV.... whats the test/procedure like? |
okay IM not concerned or scared.. Im not a man whore. I heard they shove a Q TIP up my uretha... so yea... sounds QUITE PAINFUL. So Im asking!!! I don't know if they "shove" anything up there but I believe they do "swab" the area. Besides, even its a little uncomfortable when you have that done, just think of how much worse things could feel if you don't! you are doing the right thing by getting tested, don't worry, I don't think the experience will be as bad as you were told. you know im not really sure but if you log onto like a medical web site you could probably find out ! if i find out ill hit you up ! :] Painless for the most part. You can be tested for most STDs through a urine sample, and a select few (like HIV/AIDs) require a blood sample, which involves the use of a needle smaller than the one used for donating blood. They ask about your sexual history, they draw blood, they give you a pelvic exam, if you're a woman. With a man they probably examine your genital area. It's not anything painful and nothing to worry about. The only thing I hated was having to wait so long for the HIV results, but I was negative, thank God. the symboll of STD some times are not visible and visible after some years, after blood exam it is easily find out, in the case of HIV elisa and westernblot exam of blood are easily to determine, first dot method, after other tests r u afraid of this test? hey dont b its just normal n quiet regular one it is tested by either ur blood or urine test for more information chek in google best to solve ur problem just few drops of urine on a strip and wait for the dots to appear the doctor would tell you. for HIV/STD testing you'll be counselled first. in which they'll tell what the tests r for. then they collect a blood sample. and if ur female take a pap smear. if u have any complaints{any discharge/ulcers} they may collect some of the dischage or pus on a q-tip. post test they'll call u for results and post test counselling. this is done at all govenment hospitals in India. Tell them to do blood test for Herpes Antibodies oryou won't know if you have herpes. Normal STD test doesn't test for it. |

You can go ahead and do your celebratory dance. The chances of a false HIV negative are very slim. Like 0.00001 %. The test is very sensitive that you might have a false positive but its very unl... I would hope so..... ...I would say the Doctor is the person who would know the most current info. ...yes it is possible to test negative thats why they say to test again in 6 to 8 months and just act as if you do have it untill then ...It could be both false positive or negative sometimes after exposure it may take time to seroconvert so one can take a repeat test or wait 3 months and do a repeat ...No a CBC does not check for HIV or other diseases... in fact it can come back as normal but yet you could have a big problem such as HIV. The thing is unles you are in the advanced stages of HIV/AI... Newborns are not routinely tested and if the mother is negative, why would her baby be tested? If you're concerned, speak to your child's pediatrician about the advisability of testing... DON'T HAVE SEX UNTIL YOU GET TESTED, OTHER THEN THAT, WAIT AND PRAY ... |
