Does the hiv home kit test really work?

Does the hiv home kit test really work?

They are as effective as the person Administering the test, if done properly yes they work. As an HIV counselor and tester I find most people are so nervous while performing the mail away kits they end up messing it up, and you have to factor in the incubation period of 28 days to 90 days is the window period before one shows detectable antibodies to HIV ( CDC standards) There is a test call Oraquick anti-body test (results in 20 minutes with an 99.6 % accuracy rate) you will have to give a name (not going to ask you for ID because I can not) you merely have to give a name. It is better to know than not to know. It is no longer the death sentence that it used to be, but it does alter one鈥檚 life. Contact your local Public Health Department or local AIDS service organization to find out other options on testing. You must protect yourself and protect others.

I believe that they do. I don't think that they could market it if it didn't. If you are in doubt though, I would go see your doctor.

I wouldn't trust them 100% - get down to your Doctor ..don't be shy if you think you need a test go now !
.. in Scotland we have GUM Clinics

Yes but the incubation period of HIV can be up to 6 months and in rare occasions sometimes years so don't think that one test will clear you...if you're worried that you've been exposed you should see your doctor ASAP

some do... some dont work that great... sadly the one i used didnt work that great... :(...
