Are you afraid of the Swine Flu?

Why is it that people will wear face masks, avoid hugging and shaking hands, shut down entire school districts, cancel trips and run to the hospital with every cough out of fear of the Swine Flu but WILL NOT wear condoms to prevent the spread the HIV, which is main killer of young people in this country.

Atleast this flu is curable, people in the US cases started recovering as soon as they were diagnosed. Is it easier to live in fear of this flu than it is to wear a condom?

IMO I'd rather get the flu, take a shot and be cured than to contract a disease that will kill me slow and painfully for the rest of my life.

Like any disease containment is the key .America ,australia and china have large populations and teaching of disease control is also the key to having a safe society.Medical and intelligence agencies cannot protect society without society.Protecting society itself with education stops disease.I am not afraid of swine flu as i practice clean living.

no. People die from diseases like the flu, pneumonia, std's, etc. everyday and we don't freak out about that. Then all of the sudden the 'swine flu' comes along and we're freaking out and it hasn't killed nearly many diseases as these other common diseases people get everyday and we aren't afraid of those.

No, I'm not. People who say we should be scared are paranoid. They actually believe what the media says. All I have to say is, if you get it, you get. Boo hoo, you are sick, then your better. People need to stop comparing it to the black plague which wiped out (by that I mean, killed) half of Europe, I believe.

There is no cure for the common flu. We ave medication and natural defence that's it.
