What are the chances I have herpes? |
Just went for a doctor visit after I started getting little red bumps on my penis shaft. There I was tested for HIV, which came back negative. I told her I had cold sores in the past (bad skin + winter time = cold sores for me). When she came back, she said it might HSV-1 or early herpes. Now I've been monogomous with my girlfriend of 9 months and I've only ever had six sexual encounters -- all with condoms until we grew to trust each other. Being exposes to extreme cold weather can trigger out breaks of cold sores around the mouth, which are caused by HSV 1 they are not caused by HIV so no surprise there when your test was negative for HIV. Try getting tested for HSV1 and have the red bumps on your penis tested as well for HSV1 and HSV2. If your girlfriend has oral herpes as well it is possible it spread from her mouth to your gentials. |
