I recently did my hiv test as i am going to marry next month.but my report came as hiv1 and hiv2 non reactive.? I am not a doctor or anything but "non-reactive" is a fine word to me. So i guess you're fine. "Non reactive" means no HIV antibodies were found in the sample you provided. Since most people would test positive within 3 months after getting infected, that means that you were not infected by any possible exposure more than 3 months ago. (In very rare cases, it can take up to 6 months for someone to test positive.) If you have not had any possible exposure in the past 3-6 months, you do not have HIV. If you have had possible exposure more recently, then you should get retested. HIV testing looks for antibodies. Our bodies create antibodies when we have a virus to fight off. Non reactive means there were no antibodies to react with. Which mean you do not have HIV. mean you didn't react to it.. you are fine. It means that the virus was not detected in your blood...it means that you do NOT have HIV. You're fine. |
