I had a one night stand about 5 years ago and was tested for HIV. I then found out I was prego 2 1/2 years? |
was tested again. Is there still a chance that I could have the virus? I'm on a boat. Not from the one nighter 5 years ago. Usually the virus is tested for at the time of exposure and 6 months later. The later testing is just in case the virus was not abundant enough to be caught by the first test. However, you are still sexual active, so you could still catch the virus from one of your other partners. However, if you have only had sex with your child's father since the one night stand, you should not have the virus unless he cheated on you. If you tested negative 2.5 years after your one night stand then you do not have HIV. If the test said you have it then you do. |
