Okay Im going to meps soon I was informed this is what they test you for...?

Your blood will be tested for HIV, Hemoglobin, Hematocrit, RPR, and Alcohol. There are also two different urine tests, one is the legal drug urine and the other tests for pH, blood, protein, and specific gravity.

P.S.I understand the drug & HIV test but I'm clueless on the the rest...
Can someone explain...

It is just routine test that you probably already had at regular doctors visit. Stop stressing.

Hemoglobin...The test is done to detect and monitor the severity of various kinds of hemolytic anemia, or breakdown of red blood cells

Hematocirt...test if you have signs of anemia, leukemia, diet deficiency, or other medical condition.

RPR....used to diagnose syphilis

Urine PH...to see if you are at risk for kidney stones. Acidic urine is associated with xanthine, cystine, uric acid, and calcium oxalate stones. Alkaline urine is associated with calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate, and magnesium phosphate stones

Blood & protien various kidney functions.

Gravity..evaluate your body's water balance and urine concentration.

what iconnor said, basically its just tests to make sure you dont have any diseases or anything that would hinder you in boot camp or in life in general. because when you join your under their medical so they dont want you gettin sick and needing major treatment that they pay for hahah. but dont stress, if your not sick and your doctor says your not sick then youll be fine. Just remember not to eat alot the morning of so your sugar count isnt high and dont jerk off the night before so your protein count is messed up.

Basically they are testing to make sure you are not a drug addict. They are also testing to make sure your blood is normal. They want to make sure you are not obviously sick or have anything contagious. No wierd blood disorders, etc.

As long as you are NOT pregnant, do not use drugs, do not have HIV, do not have blood disorders then you have nothing to worry about.

They are to make sure the rest of you is functioning well. pancreas, liver, billarubins, heart sickle cell,..you get the picture.
