Exposure to HIV from manicure? |
On May 15th I got a manicure and, from what I could remember, there were no cuts or blood present. About 3 weeks later I developed a terrible cough, headache, and fatigue. I fear this could be ARS symptoms pertaining to HIV. I am terrified and I have to wait 9 weeks to have a conclusive HIV test. How probable is it that I (God forbid) contracted HIV from this manicure? The chances are effectively nil of getting HIV from anything other than unprotected sexual contact, getting contaminated blood or sharing needles. I think that you are just being paranoid about this. I dont think you can get HIV from getting a maincure because once it becomes airborne it dies. The only reason I would be paronoid if I was you if I had unprotected sex with someone. How could you have contracted it? There's no possible way. Symptoms would not show up 3 weeks later, it can take people years to develop symptoms. You're fine. No risk. |
