Is this True you can catch hiv and herpes at the same time after intercourse? |
back in november i had unprotected sex for the first time in my life. i think like in januAry i started seeing bumps. so on jan 14 i took a HIV and a Hsv test. I tested Positive for Hsv 1 and negative for HIV. the nurse sad that i don,t need to test again unless i have another intercorse again. is this true? Tested Negative after 8 weeks for HIV is almost conclusive , 90% of people turn positive within 4-6 weeks , but have another test in now you can expect it to be negative No, it's not true. If you have unprotected intercourse and are worried you should always have a series of sexual health tests. You get contract any and all std's your partner has any and every time you have intercourse. As far as not being tested again, I don't agree with your nurse. It can take up to one year for HIV to show up on a blood test, however it will usually show itself in about six months. Bottom line, I would definiately get another HIV test in six months to a year after intercourse. In the future use condems as well. It's not full proof, but it does cut down the risk. You can get any STD at the same time. If he/she has it, then you can get it. I'm sure you're negative for HIV, but get tested one more time. In some people it takes up to 6 months for the antibodies to build up. That is rare, but a possibility. You need to recheck the HIV test six months after your initial contact with unprotected sex. Because that nasty virus can be in your body hiding and not show up for 6 months. If you haven't had sex again since your November experience, and you test negative for the second HIV test, then you are STD free. Don't have unprotected sex again and spare yourself all this grief, trouble and worry. No. That's not necessarily true. It is possible for the HIV virus to be in your system but not be present at the time you tested. Just to be on the safe side hun get tested again in about 6 months...that way you can ease be sure that you are O.K. And remember that you can always get an STD whether you have unprotected sex one time or ONE THOUSAND times!!! So always protect yourself!!! |
