HIV testing through window period? |
Hello. I had an unprotected gay intercourse (penile insertion in my anus) last Friday night from someone I don't know.I got a urine test for some STDs but the turned negative but as for HIV ... I know that its window period is from 3 to 6 months but I can't wait that long and am feeling too much paranoid ... how accurate shall the blood test be if I managed to wait for 14 days? HIV testing tests for antibodies present in the body, It takes some time to develop antibodies that's why it's recommended that after the first test you wait 6 months and test again to confirm it. OK if you got the money you can now go get a rapid HIV test... It's more expensive and some places wont do it but you need to look into that for sure..It's more expensive cause it's not the standard test which looks for the anti bodies it's a test that actualy looks for the virus itself.. in my opinion if you have the money this would make the next 3 months alot easier. waiting for a test like that is hard.. I forgot the name of this test im talking about but look into it.. If you got the money that is, it's kinda expensive..lol how is someone gonna thumbs down this answer LOL Well, if he is HIV positive then you would be high risk. Anal sex is the most risky activity in the way of HIV. He may have not had it. It would have been nice if he had disclosed this information before you two had sex. The best course of action would be to find this man you had sex with and have him tested for HIV. That way you could get treated now - drugs for people who have been exposed to HIV within the last few days are quite effective. get the 5 minute test , buy it online. |
