What are the possible reasons and HIV test first tests reactive, but with 2 additional tests is Negative.? |
Why would an HIV tests be reactive, but with 2 intense follow up tests it would be negative....what would cause the first test to trigger that? would it have to be HIV related? what other things could make a rapid test reactive if it is not HIV? Rapid tests have a very high rate of false positive results. That's why all initial positive tests need to be verified with followup testing. Actually it can take a year.... Report Abuse HIV tests are designed not to give false negatives, as a way to be "better safe than sorry." So various things can trigger an HIV test to be positive, especially the rapid tests they use. however, nothing would give you a negative unless you are free from HIV. |
