Are you required to give the names of partners, for like CDC regulations or something? If so,what if you don't know their names, or last names?

No you don't have to report anything by law and don't be pressured it is not manditory but, please play it safe do it right and tell as much people you had sex with about it, if you test positive, most likely they won't talk on you in fear that they also be labeled and they to can seek help and stop any further spreading .Play it safe let your partner know your status, use condom and seek help if you want to live productive long life, this disease it no longer a automatic death sentence, it is known that people have had this disease for more than 20yrs, and live to see old age.It is when you don't get treatment that you can develop other infection related to this disease.See thebody.com for support, good luck and wish you well.

HIV is a reportable disease and it is mandated that you provide the names of your partners to your medical doctor. They will submit it to the CDC so they can be tested.

Followup of partners is NOT done for hiv. In the state where I live, it is for syphilis and gonorrhea though.

Treat others like you would want to be treated? What if the person that you contracted it from only told you. Maybe you would not be in this situation.
You really should do your best to try to get in contact with all of your partners. I am sure that there are people that can help you in your efforts. Check with your doctor. Chances are that if you test positive the will also pass along some great resources to you. Being a doctor is more than just passing along test results. . . A good doctor will treat your whole self, not just the physical symptoms and illness.

by law you are to let them know who you have been with . this is law . as well if you test postive. you are by law to tell whoever you are having sex with this sadley to say this is law. ???
