How accuracy is Anit-HIV elisa test at 2 months after exposure?

And also what's the sensitivity of PCR HIV at 3 weeks.

I mean how many percent of HIV-infected person was tested HIV positive at 2 month after exposure.

There can be a 3 months window period, after this, if u have a negative result, so u are negative with Elisa. But if u are possitve with the Elisa, u have to make it with western blot. Some places take it to 1 month, the window period. 95% of the people seroconversion from 2 to 6 weeks.

Hope this can be usefull

elisa is not conformatory test it detect antibodies. window period of hiv can be 1-6month it is not fixed but pcr is conformatory it detect viral dna it very much sensitive also but not done routinly bcoz of cost

If the window period where you live is 3 months, then the elisa is probably pretty accurate. Keep in mind that some places still call for a 6 month window period.

A negative Elisa means that you do not have HIV.

A postive Elisa requires an additional Western Blot test to be done of the sample. Elisa tests can be thrown off by many things. Western Blot is very specific to HIV. A positive Western Blot means you have HIV.

The PCR should be accurate at 3 weeks.

Sero conversion can take anywhere up to 6 months after exposure. The Elsa test and the Western Blot method both measure antibodies to the HIV virus as it is impossible to accurately test for the antigens (Viruses). The elisa test can have a high false positive result. If the Elisa test is positive then it is confirmed with the Western Blot technique. You should have negative tests at 3 and 6 months after exposure and being sexually inactive before considering yourself negative
