If you get a blood test for something but you have HIV...would it show up in the test for the doctors?

like if you went to the emergency room for something and they drew blood to check your cell counts and whatever else..if you had HIV would the doctor see that and tell you? Or do you have to say specifically I want to be tested for HIV and that is the only way you can find out.

they cant know but regular blood test but if you are HIV positive you should tell them.... if you only want to be tested go to the health dept it is free

They have to do a specific test.

Unless it's an autopsy, they will not know and will not test for it. You MUST ask for the test. Of course, if you are incarcerated in most states they automatically test you.

It requires a specific test. You or your physician must request it.

You have to give permission to be tested.

only if they do an HIV test

they would have to order that test--if you think you might have HIV please get tested ASAP

You have to specifically ask for an HIV test.

No, they have to scan for HIV. If you were getting blood drawn for...tests for something they want to use all the blood on that one thing, not looking for STD"S when you could go to a clinic and get it done.

If you have HIV, but no AIDS, and they aren't specifically looking for it, they won't find it (with AIDS, they may notice a low T-cell count). But it's generally a good idea to tell doctors *everything* about your condition, even if you don't think it has any relevance to your treatment. Doctors don't judge you, but knowing everything will help them make correct decisions about your health.

Depending on what state you are in, it is somethimes madated that they do an HIV test.

You have to ask for it. Or the doctor must ask for it. The only way they would know is if it was done (tested) by accident in which case they probably would not tell you anyway. (because of the legalities)

it's hard to say...if the pathologist is only looking for a specific condition/disease in the blood then hiv may not be detected, i know that when a patient goes to the doc to actually get a hiv test, it takes 3 days to a week to get the results

By law you have to ask for this test first.

They have to do a specific test, but I think is pretty routeinly tested for, if you have AIDS you have a really low T-cell count, so they might be able to tell you (but by then you are really sick anyway).

no, not unless it was an all inclusive test. you have to specify if you want to be tested for aids.

Why would you risk someone Else's life and not tell that you are HIV positive. In my book you are just another murderer looking for someone to kill..........................Also if someone get sick because of your non caring you are risking going to jail for a very long time..........................

i dont care if doctor saids me it would be show if yes or if not..i only HOPE...it could be analized only with a gote of blood..and is not for loving my blood....is..im scared with...well doctor would see me if show me the injection(or perhaps wouldnt see me..i always run so quickly in that moments)
