Different testing sites have different age thresholds. There are many sites that will not test you without your parents' consent unless you are at least 16 or 17. Check out http://www.hivtest.org/ and type in your zip code (and search radius) to find testing sites in your area that offer testing for free or low cost. If you're worried about your parents finding out, keep in mind that confidentiality is required whether you go to your own MD or other site. Many testing sites also offer anonymous testing, which means your name won't be used but you may be required to show some proof of age/maturity. You shouldn't have to, just bring some over 18.
