How accurate is 6 weeks hiv test ?

i have heard 98% but i'm worried

took test 6 weeks after exposure..the doctor said it is conclusive....it came back negative

Hello,

The hiv test after 6 weeks exposure is very accurate. the seroconversion period is 2-4 weeks.

The average time it take for antibodies to be detected is 21 days most 45 days after. So If no test has been administered i would recommend testing 45 days after exposure.

There are several types of test which can detect early infection with the virus.

yes 98 %.tell is it positive?to help u more

Doctors are not always right. It takes about two weeks for HIV to infect initial cells. After that it seems as if nothing is happening. However, there is much going on inside the body.
