Unprotected sex on 12/31/07--neg hiv test on 02/15/07 and 05/01/2007.im still freaking out should I test again

If it will make you feel better yes. By then the antibodies will show up. Go get checked again. Then remember to use protection. Nothing is that great to die for.

wow why are you so freaked out was you with someone with the HIV virus unprotected
or just with someone unprotected?
I'd say if you wasn't with a known carrier then after 2 negative tests you should be feeling pretty sure your alright.

no you don't need to get tested for another 6mnths

HIV test basically to check whether you body has produced HIV antibody and not to find the HIV virus itself. The existence of antibody needs 3 - 4 months after infected to be detectable. This 3 - 4 months is called window period.
If you have tested and the result was negative, then after 3 - 4 months absolute sexual abstinence or safe sex only take another test. If still negative that mean you are free of HIV. Then have one healthy partner only or involve in safe sex only.

If the last time you had unprotected sex was 12/31/07 and you have tested twice and came up negative both times with the last time being 5/01/07 then with out a doubt you are negative. It takes approximately 3 months for the virus to show up in testing. The rule of thumb in HIV testing is to test and then abstain or use protection for 3 months and test again. If both are negative then you definitely negative. Relax and accept that your negative.

The newer tests for hiv show if you have it by 6wks after you get it. If you were neg then you should still be negative. I had a nasty scare myself in 1992 and I spent the next who knows how long worrying about it. I had asked my dr to add an hiv test to my regular blood work each check up and he did. I am still negative. Just getting regular checks for it made me feel better. I havent had sex (protected or unprotected) in more than 4 yrs now but I still get tested. If you are needing to calm yourself get retested. Otherwise, you should have tested positive after 6wks.
